CivicSpace On Demand features powerful tools to customize the look and feel of your site. For minor customizations, you can use the themestyler module to upload custom .css and images. Or for complete control, the themefactory module allows uploading of custom templates that you build using the Smarty theme engine.
CivicSpace Groups provide a space where members of the CivicSpace community can share their experiences of using and customizing CivicSpace On Demand to their own needs. If you believe you have identified an issue or bug that requires our attention, please report it using the contact form. You can also buy support tickets here to obtain technical support from our engineering staff and consultants for specific customization and implementation needs.
Would you like to change the look of CiviCRM?
In CiviCRM 1.7 you can provide a directory where you have custom theme templates. With theme factory, you can create custom smart templates. So just point your CiviCRM >> administer >> settings >> directories >> Custom templates to your theme directory and you'll have custom CiviCRM templates.
Your theme directory is domainname/files/themefactory/

Hi,
I'm slowly figuring out how to make simple changes to some of the themes. I'd like to use Basetheme, but it has a very large and incongruous search bar immediately below my title header. I've identified the little snippet of text that controls it in the CSS file, I think, but the most I've been able to accomplish is changing the alignment to the left or right.
Is there a way to make this search bar dissapear entirely from my header in Basetheme? A lot of the themes seem to have weird things going on with the search bars in the headers but unlucky for me they all look different in CSS and the best I've figured out how to do is change colors and line styles. I'm hoping there's some magic text I can insert in there to make the search bar invisible, so if anyone knows what that might be, I'd be super appreciative!
Hello, we all face a constant problem of dealing with spam.
I have increased the number of Spam prevention steps for using CivicSpaceLabs.org. Some of you will still want to change your communication preferences, or unsubscribe for this group. You can do both in the group details block for this group.
Sometimes when you are theming your site you will break your site theme. We can fix this for you, but you'll want to be able to fix this yourself.
You should first enable "Select Different theme" permission in Administer >> access control in the System Module section. This will ensure that your back-up account has a theme different than the theme you might be about to break.
If you have a second browser you should log into the site with the working theme, such as Blue Marine or Groundswell. If you break your default theme, you'll be able to go in and undo your changes with the other browser and the back up user account.
Could you outline the simplest, most direct way to provide access to a number of documents for our site visitors. To upload them, then to link to them from other nodes.
The solutions suggested on Drupal require combining modules and don't seem appropriate here. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Can anyone suggest the good, efficient way to create and present lists of links, eg. a list of other blogs, recommended sites, web-resources, on-site documents, etc.?
You could build a new menu and set that block somewhere on the page (right or left column, etc.). But that seems a cumbersome way to work with it (you'd have to be constantly changing that menu). And it could become quite long, if it's expanded enough to be useful anyway. Any other ideas?
